Jim Evavold

Jim Evavold has over 21 years experience as a Business Broker. Prior to joining Opportunities in Business, he owned and operated a number of small businesses here in the Twin Cities. In his time with OIB, Jim has helped over 100 small business owners sell their closely held businesses and commercial properties while maintaining the utmost confidentiality and discretion.

The breadth of Jim’s experience has served him well as a broker. He has participated in the sale and purchase of a wide variety of businesses from various industries including manufacturing, distribution, service, restaurant/bar, and retail, including over 35 liquor stores and 13 gas station/convenience stores (many of which involved commercial real estate). 

Jim attributes his success to his extensive experience in sales and marketing, ability to analyze financial statements, and understanding of the importance of confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Sellers and buyers alike have been very happy with Jim’s professional and confidential approach to handling all aspects of a business sale, including negotiations, buyer qualification, document preparation, and marketing strategies. 

Jim also has experience working with landlords (leases) and all aspects of selling commercial property. He has vast experience working with banks, title companies, and city administrators throughout the Twin Cities area, as well as with the state of MN for licensing issues. Jim lives with his wife in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities and enjoys all kinds of sports, motorcycling, camping, fishing, and music.
