Bob Griesgraber started Opportunities in Business 30 years ago with one mission - to serve the needs of small business owners who wanted to sell their business and of individuals and companies who wanted to buy a business. For large companies, these specialized services were readily available, but for small business owners and those who wanted to buy a small business, professional Business Brokerage services were hard to find. Opportunities in Business filled that void three decades ago.
We have sold thousands of businesses of all kinds and all sizes. The common denominator is that they were privately held businesses and the owners made the sound decision to sell their business as a going concern rather then liquidate. For buyers, they made the sound decision to buy an existing business rather than start from scratch.
30 years and thousands of transactions provides unmatched experience for the benefit of our clients; we may not have seen it all but we have seen a lot. The issues that attend the sale of a business are many and varied-accounting, legal, leases and landlords, stock sales vs. asset sales, allocation issues, covenants not to compete, training and transition issues, financing the acquisition, to name a few. It helps when you have experience in negotiating these and other issues.
Along the way we learned and grew professionally as well. Bob is a member of the International Business Brokers Association and has been since it was created 30 years ago. He is also a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and has been active in helping create a national data base of businesses sold to help in the appraisal of small, closely held businesses. He is a Certified Business Counselor and a member of the Institute of Certified Business Counselors and he is also a Senior Business Analyst, designated by the Society of Business Analysts.
Bob is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri.
